Enhance employee productivity in work from home policy
The global spread of Novel Coronavirus has brought a major twist to the way we work. Most organisations have shifted to work from home concept. But the question that arises here is whether work from home has any impact on the growth of an organisation. Of course yes! The work from home concept can save you money, and time and you can work from any part of the world.
But many employees state that they feel more stressed and they aren’t able to handle the same amount of work that they did earlier. Is it because of insufficient time? No, it can’t be concluded with a single reason, as it has multiple factors that contribute to this concern.
Factors that affect employee productivity while working from home;
· As an individual we all have a biological clock that includes our daily routine like waking up at five, getting dressed, having breakfast, and rushing to the office. All this single sequence can stimulate the brain to be active at work. But employees lack this trigger at home.
· Employees working in an organisation who completely depend on hard copy documentation are likely to experience more stress and work pressure due to the insufficient data
· Social interactions and team spirit play a major role in increasing productivity because it enhances an individual’s knowledge, cognitive skills, and creativity and they can also influence one’s perspectives about different things.
. Often, professionals working from home complain of isolation and loneliness due to the removal from their coworkers and this can be very depressing to some people.
· In the office, people are under the supervision of their superiors, so this can cause a minimum amount of stress called eustress among employees, which can make them do things much faster and more efficiently.
· For the majority, home is the most distractive place to work. At home, a person has to deal with multiple tasks like household, office work etc. It’s quite tiring to cope with official deadlines and distractions from home which would result in high stress.
· Attire plays a major role as it affects an individual’s mood. For example, what do we feel when we are in our nightwear? More relaxed right! When people are relaxed people prefer not to work but to be idle.
What about freelance workers?
Most of the individuals are involved in jobs that they are least interested in. So, in that case, people are more concerned about the salary not the profit and growth of an organisation. But in the case of freelance workers, if they dare to do something on their own that means he/she has that passion inside them. So, external triggers will not drag them out of their productivity. As we all know that employee productivity is the profit of an organisation. When any of your employees lack this productivity what does that mean? Yes, the growth of your company is under threat.
